WALKER, Mich. –
Police identified GVSU student, Jessie Winterholler, 19, of Trenton as the student struck and killed Friday evening.
It happened around 7:10 p.m. in the 4200 block of 3 Mile NW.
Walker Police said Winterholler and her two friends were headed to Comstock Park from Grand Valley State’s Allendale campus when they got into an argument.
One of students got out of the vehicle and was going to walk the rest of the way.
Police said Winterholler tried to go get her friend.
The student was struck by a 49-year-old woman from Holland driving Chevy Malibu headed west on 3 Mile Road NW. The female victim was apparently wearing dark clothing.
The student died instantly in the crash, speed and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the accident.
Winterholler had several blogs through the website Tumblr. One of the blogs has a French theme and involves a reoccurring cartoon character.
Grand Valley State University held their senior commencements Saturday morning. During the ceremony the late President Gerald R. Ford’s daughter, Susan Ford Bales was giving the keynote address and offered her condolences for Winterholler ‘s family.
The school has guidance counselors on call for any student that wants to talk. All they have to do is call the Counseling and Career Development Center at 616-331-3266 and ask for help.

Your information is incorrect. One of the passengers is correcting the information with Wood TV right now. Correct your “story” because a wonderful young lady has been tragically taken from the world and her friends and family are mourning. Inaccurate information spread online damages the memory of Jessie and causes more pain to those mourning her.
