GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A Craigslist deal went wrong, causing two men to get shot at Monday evening.
Two men from Okemos traveled to Grand Rapids to purchase an Apple iPhone around 7 p.m.
The pair waited outside an All Star Wireless at 2023 Eastern Avenue SE to pick up the phone. That’s when the guy they were meeting allegedly fired two shots into their Toyota Tundra pickup.
Fortunately no one was injured, the suspect took off with their cash on foot.
The suspect was described to police as a black man in his 30s, about 6-feet-2-inches, buzz cut, a lazy right eye, wearing a black coat and a blue and white winter hat with fold down flaps.
Grand Rapids Police report this is the third robbery following ads for an iPhone on Craigslist recently. The first two incidents were reported back in November.

With all of the "research" and "studies" we hear about these days, I just wish someone would do a study on how many crimes have really been committed through these web sites, Craigslist, Facebook, and other sites like them…That would be interesting.

Hey Justice Always… Look in your local paper… have you notice the classified section is shinking to almost nothing…So where do you think all the classified adds went to ? Yes to the same web sites that you are blaming. Get used to it.. the web sites are not going to disappear. The crimes were always being committed it just that now you ..are trying to blame them. Craigslist is a great place to sell items and even get a job… for free. The good of craigslist outweighs the bad by far.

Very unfortunate situation, but (as mentioned above) the good advantages outweigh the bad stuff-as far as Craig's list.
