Father And Son Lose Home, Pet Parakeet In Fire

NORTH MUSKEGON, Mich. – A man and his son managed to escape their blazing home early Wednesday morning.

The Muskegon Fire Department said they were called to the residence located at 440 Channel road at about 2:00 a.m. By the time they arrived flames were ripping through the home.

The father and son were the only people inside at the time. They were able to get out without injury, but unfortunately their pet parakeet died in the fire.

Officials were on the scene until about 10:45 a.m. They have determined the house is a total loss. How the fire started is still under investigation.

No Justin the only thing they valued and lost is their pet bird. It doesn't mean they didn't have many other possessions of value that were lost in the fire. I'm sure they had all the same types of things you or I have in our homes. Furniture, Electronics, Clothing, Appliances, it's just that they cherished their pet Parakeet. To them after saving each other I"m sure the next thing of importance was their pet and they were upset they lost him. Simply because they didn't mention there personal belongings doesn't mean they didn't get consumed by the fire it only means that their 50" Plasma wasn't anywhere nearly as important as their pet. When reading an article because things aren't explicitly mentioned doesn't mean they didn't exist. I'm sure it would have been in the next paragraph, if say the father and son along with their pet parakeet lived in a house with no other possessions that would be mentioned as that would be quite out of the ordinary don't you think?
