GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Two victims gunned down in Grand Rapids this week knew each other well, according to family.
The body of Madhi Hayes, 20, was found in an alley near the 700 block of Prince Street SE early Thursday morning.
Hayes’ aunt said he was a member of the National Guard and a former athlete at Wyoming Lee High School.
FOX 17 has learned that Hayes had a previous relationship with Eve’Vana Galloway, 20, who was gunned down at her home at Walnut Grove Apartments on Dec. 15.
Hayes posted a picture of himself and Galloway on Facebook on Dec. 16 in memorial. Galloway’s mother said the two dated shortly, but broke up around Halloween.
Grand Rapids Police Capt. Jeff Hertell said it’s too early in all of the investigations to know for sure if the murders are connected.
“It’s certainly something we’ll look at,’ he said.
