GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Even though snowfall amounts were minor in Grand Rapids, traffic in the metro area was at a standstill Wednesday evening.
Around 4:50 p.m. south US -131 near Market Street in downtown Grand Rapids was down to one lane due to a crash.
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) reports East M-6 near Kalamazoo Avenue was also down to one lane because of a crash.
Our FOX 17 Tower cam showing US-131 at I-196 (picture attached to story) shows a long line of traffic waiting to get through downtown.
Numerous spinoffs in the Kalamazoo area were reported Wednesday. That’s where more snow accumulated during the day.
MDOT reported around 5:36 p.m. that east I-196 at 44th Street was also experiencing delays due to a crash.
A traffic dispatcher with the Kent County Road Commission told FOX 17 Traffic Reporter Robb Westaby they plan to have a full complement of plows on area roads tonight.

From our point of view, we don’t think that he was in a fight because it just was not in his nature, he wasn’t confrontational like that

I had seen this clash with my eye. When this accident had occurred, I was driving a car and I am very shocked to see this.
