TWITTER — Rep. Justin Amash (@justinamash) usually uses his personal Twitter account to post links to articles and comment on politics.
On December 31, he retweeted a remark that compared U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid with an evil king from Lord of the Rings:
- “RT@DeanClancy Notice how you never see Senator Reid and the Witch-King of Angmar in the same room at the same time.”
J.R.R. Tolkien fans will recognize the Witch-King of Angmar as the leader of the undead Nazgul, the bad guys who chased the hobbit Frodo in The Lord Of The Rings and is defeated in the trilogy’s climactic battle at Minas Tirith.
Dean Clancy, the originator of the tweet, is legislative counsel and vice president, health care policy, of FreedomWorks, an activist organization in Washington with ties to the Tea Party movement but predates that movement by more than 20 years.
The retweet by Amash could be seen as uncharacteristic, as his comments are usually political instead of satirical. The congressman also tweets as @repjustinamash.

Just goes to show that Amash is living in a world of fantasy and that he better get with reality. Most people I talk to don't see any humor in the fact that he and his bone head tea party supporters are
forcing us to the brink of disaster.

Hardly. Representatives like Amash are the only remaining hope in D.C. who can prevent the crony capitalists and the Keynesian hog troughers from sealing the financial fate of your grand children and great-grand children.

Considering Harry Reid is using the US Congress as his own personal trampoline for power, stringing us over a cliff and using us as leverage to boost is own agenda, I think the comparison is pretty appropriate.

Why has it become acceptable for our elected officials to behave like middle school children? Because apparently that is the the maturity level of a large portion of the voters. Stop the name calling people! Try to behave like the adults you claim to be.
