GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Flu cases continue to spike in West Michigan. Meanwhile, some people who got the shot are still getting sick.

Infectious Disease Specialists say there likely is another strain of flu that is making people ill that’s not covered by the shot.

Although the odds aren’t very high, those who don’t get the shot can also contract both types of the flu at the same time if they come in contact with the different viruses within a certain time period.
