GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – An Allendale man was sentenced Monday for bomb-plot hoaxes against the Gerald R. Ford Federal Building in Grand Rapids and the Palisades Nuclear Plant in Covert.

Anthony Mario Fortuna, 36, was sentenced to serve the maximum of five years in Federal prison for falsely reporting to the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Fortuna plead guilty to the charge in September, 2012.

The judge made the decision to give Fortuna the maximum sentence based on his previous criminal history, which includes a Federal conviction in Alabama for lying to the FBI about a muder-for-hire plot.

In 2010, Fortuna first reported a fictitious plot by several others to blow up the Ford Building.

Four months later, Fortuna told the FBI that there was an insider plot against the Palisades plant. The FBI investigated and found that this story was also untrue.
