
GRANDVILLE, Mich. – An Amtrak train hit a car in Grandville on Tuesday night.
Officials tell FOX 17 News that about 9:50 p.m., an Amtrak train hit a car at Ivanrest and Chicago Drive.
The train was heading from Chicago to Grand Rapids. There were 34 people on the train at the time the accident occurred.
Passengers will remain on the train until the vehicle is towed.
No injuries were reported.

with all the people ignoring the red blinking lights at railroad tracks it was bound to happen………thankful noone was killed by their own stupidity

HEY CHAD, THE CAR BROKE DOWN WHILE TRYING TO CROSS THE TRACKS. THE WHEEL FELL OFF PREVENTING IT FROM MOVING. THE VEHICLE BROKE DOWN IN ADVANCE TO THE TRAIN SHOWING UP. NO stupidity here just bad luck.

They must boycott/ban trains because they are deadly or make a law so they can only have so many train cars.

Trains are not dangerous at all, if we are going to use your logic then we should ban cars. How often do you here of a train accident compared to a car accident?

so they didnt maintain their vehicle so the wheel bearing broke then they tried beating the train much better scenario

Trains are fast now!! Travel is in demand! When you are stuck or broke down OVER any highway grade crossing YOU must report the issue by calling the police or number on the signal box!! No one is at fault just remember to stay off tracks and don't shift over a crossing!!! Train size does not matter a locomotive itself can do major damage! Lesson learned! EASY AND SIMPLE FOLKS!!!
