ALGOMA TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A power outage early Monday morning in Kent County has left nearly 4,000 people without electricity.

It happened in the area of Hull Street and Lymburger in Algoma Township.  Consumers Energy says the outage is being caused by a substation that is out of service, but it’s not clear what is causing the issue.  They are hoping to get power restored by 9:00 a.m.

According to their outage map, there were 3,816 customers without power at one point.
