I was right in the middle of all that but, fortunately, made it through unscathed and was able to get off at the Helmer Rd. exit. The black ice was so bad that tapping the brakes did nothing at all. So slick that the wind was pushing cars out of lane. Unfortunately, most drivers were not ready for it and were still doing 65-70mph when they hit that bad spot. No way they could slow down or avoid it at that point. Black ice is no joke.

Very scary. We were on the other side, heading east, and saw multiple cars off the road (in the center and off the other side), one (or more?) overturned, the jackknifed semi with another piled into it and a car smashed into them. On our side, even the semis were driving 35–thankfully–the roads were that bad. Very slick.
