MARSHALL, Mich. – The family and friends of Mary Lands and members of law enforcement gathered Tuesday to remember her life and to raise awareness for domestic violence.

Lands disappeared 9 years ago on March 12, 2004 when her then fiancé, Christopher Pratt, says she left after an argument in their apartment in Marshall.

Forty nine balloons were released at Brooks Memorial Fountain, Mary would have been 49 years old this year.  Though a body has never been found, she was declared dead by the court two years ago.

Pratt, the primary suspect and person of interest in the case is in prison serving time for assaulting another woman.

It is the continued hope of family and law enforcement that someone will come forward with information on the disappearance of Lands.

If you know anything about her disappearance you’re asked to call police.
