MUSKEGON, Mich. — Ninety-eight teachers from Muskegon County went book shopping at the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District, and it didn’t cost them a dime.
Over 5,000 used books were donated as part of the ISD’s 50th anniversary celebration. Teachers from nearly every district in the county could select books to use in the classroom.
Nearly 7,000 new books have been distributed to schools, and $4,500 in cash donations will be used to purchase new books for classroom use.
Teachers will get another chance to select books on March 25.

and what kind of books are these- text books or "fun" reading books?
if the second then why are these books not handed out to the local districts libraries?
