HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Richard Usher Jr., 18, faced judge Kenneth Post for his preliminary examination on Wednesday.
Usher and his attorney, Phillip Sielski, were in and out of the 58th district courtroom within a minute.
The 18 year old is now headed to circuit court on charges of manslaughter and felony firearms.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department said Usher was involved in a deadly game of Russian roulette on March 8th. That game killed 16 year old Brandon Kuiper.
The sheriff’s department said Usher pulled the trigger.
Usher is scheduled to be arraigned in circuit court on April 1st.

GUN SAFETY SHOULD BE TAUGHT AT AN EARLY AGE. IT'S CLEAR TO ME THSE KIDS THOUGHT THAT PLAYING WITH A GUN WAS A GAME, AND WERE TREATING THE GUN LIKE A TOY. AND THEY WOULD NOT OF BEEN, IF THEY HAD SOMEONE AROUND TO TEACH THEM DIFFERENTLY.

My child attended school with Brandon and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. As far as Richard's hopfully he gets the full 15 years. The Grandfather and Mother should get 25 years to life for their actions. There were plenty of warnings given to this family and they still allowed this kid access to a firearm. I can only hope the wrongful death lawsuit strips them from every penny they have earned and will earn in the future. Stupidity raising Stupidity.
