WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — Heavy rain in a short amount of time led to some street flooding this evening in many areas, but as the rain winds down temporarily, the street flooding will ease.
This image is from FOX 17 Radar. While heavy rain continues in some areas, mainly south and east of Grand Rapids, the overall trend is for the rain to move out. This will allow for the rain to drain into the sewer systems, alleviating the urban flooding.
Rainfall totals so far range from 0.33″ in Kalamazoo to 1.11″ in Holland. Grand Rapids has received 0.83″ so far.
Although things are calming down now, more heavy rain is likely later tonight and throughout the day Thursday. There is a chance of severe weather as well.
