this isn't a time to be rude, and say fox is doing things the other stations aren't doing… it's a time to start a discussion and ask them to join you, for people to come together to help. this plea for help is off-putting in that it starts directly out criticizing other stations. not a cool way to start a community effort. it's like someone who criticizes others to boost their own self-esteem. keep things positive and talk about what you're doing to help, not about what others aren't doing.

that being said, i WILL be coming to sandbag tomorrow. because it's the right thing to do, but not because you asked me to. because an evacuated friend asked me to. #STAYPOSITIVE

We have used furniture in medium to good condition we would like to get to someone in need, but not a way to deliver it. Items available include a sofa, love seat, over-sized chair, desk and chair, two dressers, and other miscellaneous house hold items. I am trying to find out how I can get these items to someone who lost their furniture due to flooding.

I wonder if we can coordinate something to get furniture to heather in comment below. I have several family members with trucks and trailers I could recruit.

    Hi,

My name is Heather, I live in Hastings with my husband and five children. On March 15 of this year we had a house fire in our home which put us in a rental home. We were in the painting stages and about 3 weeks away from moving back home. Until the rain came. Currently our basement is still under a foot of water. Our drywall is falling apart, our paint is peeling off the walls, what we had left in the house (baby crib, beds, dressers, couch) is now ruined. Our furnace is shot and everything else you can imagine. Our yard is probably still 2-3 feet under water. We are devastated and just dont know what to do anymore. Although we did have insurance for the fire, with the flood we are out of luck. Please, please, if there is anything you can do to help us, we would be forever grateful. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
