SAUGATUCK, Mich. — Michigan State Police tell FOX 17 News that they have found the body of Jeffrey Woodruff, 25.

Woodruff’s body was found in the Kalamazoo Lake, Tuesday afternoon.

Woodruff has been missing since Saturday, April 27th. He was last seen in Downtown Saugatuck at Wally’s Bar and Grille. The details of what exactly happened are still being investigated.

“They wouldn’t let me see him before they took him away. That was my son,” Becky Woodruff, Jeffrey’s mother said.

“He’s such a good kid, always smiling, laughing and loving family, having a good time. Life’s short. You got to love and take care of the one’s you love,” she described.

Earlier Tuesday, family and friends canvassed the downtown area. They passed out flyers; they went door to door, to homes and businesses.

Search teams, including a dive team and assistance from a Michigan State Police helicopter, were looking for any trace of Woodruff. His body located yards away from where his phone was found (in a small park, Sunday morning).

He’s a former resident of Pinconning, Michigan.
