Latest on Jessica Heeringa CaseNORTON SHORES, Mich.- Four weeks after the disappearance of Jessica Heeringa and Norton Shores Police Chief Daniel Shaw says they’ve received thousands of tips.  Chief Shaw says, “We don’t count all of the duplicates but if I were to say all of the ones that have been logged into our system… we’ve probably gotten close to 2,000 tips.”

At this point the Silent Observer Tip line is receiving an average of 20 tips a day.

Those tips are prioritized as they come in and as long as tips do keep coming in the task force will continue its mission of finding Jessica.  Chief Shaw says the search has cost the Norton Shores Police Department around $23,000, he says,  “That’s just to cover overtime costs, supply costs related to this investigation, that does not cover on duty personnel time that we’ve also assigned nor does it cover any of the time given or donated to our agency from other members.”
