NORTON SHORES, Mich. — Justin Abdelkader had to deal with two bad cases of home cooking on Saturday and one involved the house he grew up in as a child.

Abdelkader’s parent’s house was nearly damaged by a small electrical fire. Luckily for the Abdelkaders, they did not leave to watch Game 5 of the Red Wings-Blackhawks series in Chicago as was originally planned and were able to quickly alert the fire department to the small fire that started in their unattached garage.

Joe Abdelkader, Justin’s father, told FOX 17 that there was no damage to the house as the fire was contained to the garage only, but that “it could’ve been a lot worse.” Justin was informed of the small fire after he and the Red Wings lost to the Blackhawks in Chicago. Game 6 is tonight in Detroit at 8:00 p.m.

Burnt down, or burned down? Burnt is how one would describe black toast! In Britain, Mum may have burnt the crumpets. Why does Fox17 employ writers who do not know how to write? Does anyone proofread this stuff? Idiots!

Is it protocol to just put out a story and proof read what was written? Agree with the burnt, burned comment above and you also spelled Abdelkader wrong while referring to Joe. Simple stuff.
