GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. and the also-undefeated Saul “Canelo” Alvarez are bringing their pre-fight promotional tour to Grand Rapids — and the public is invited to attend.
The 36-year-old Mayweather, a native of Grand Rapids, is unbeaten in 44 fights. He is an eight-time, five-division World Champion. Alvarez is 42-0-1 in his career, and is the current Unified Super Welterweight World Champion.
Their bout is one of the most anticipated fights in years. It is scheduled for September 14 in Las Vegas.
On Wednesday, their 11-city promotional tour stops in Grand Rapids. At noon, the champions will be at Houseman Field. The public is encouraged to get there early, as space will be limited.
Other locations on their 11-city, two-country media tour include New York City, Washington, DC, and Chicago.
