One Man Dies After Shooting In Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- Two men have been shot in Grand Rapids early on Sunday morning.

It happened around 1:30am on Cutler and Division behind Rau’s Party Store.  Carlos Roy-Papo James-Martinez, 18, died of multiple gunshot wounds at the scene. The other victim was able to run to a house in the 2100 block of Stafford Avenue after being shot. He has been taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

    Nothing says "Weekend in Grand Rapids" like a shooting. Those Stop The Violence meetings aren't getting much accomplished. I hope they can figure something out to end it.

    I think it's a bit disrespectful for theses comments tone made, I was this boys teacher and he was a nice young man. He was caught up in the street life but he was determined to go to college and make something of himself. I am sorry for his parents and pray that the family will have support.
