HOLLAND, Mich.- One day after West Michigan joins the nation in celebrating our independence, Big Lake Brewing, 977 Butternut Drive, Suite 4, will officially open to the public at noon on July 5. The newest craft brewery will specialize in traditional beer and will also serve wine that they produce on-site.
Proud owners, Greg Mackeller, Travis Prueter, and Nic Winsemius, originally founded the LLC in 2009. Since then, the trio, who all work in West Michigan as engineers, has been saving needed capital to open a public taproom.
The inspiration behind Big Lake Brewing comes from their love for locally crafted beer and their appreciation for what they have experienced while traveling to Michigan breweries Some of the beer styles on the menu include a porter, strong ale, IPA along with wheat ale.
Prueter and Winsemius were both long time home brewers before meeting and establishing Big Lake Brewing. The last four years have been spent establishing their recipe book.
Visitors will be able to enjoy various forms of fruit wine including a White Cranberry Pinot Gris that is under way. Beer and wine will be served by the glass, and growlers of beer will be available for carry-out.
Big Lake Brewing will not serve food but will allow guests to bring food from nearby locations. You can learn more about Big Lake Brewing by finding them on Facebook.
