GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A woman is dead after a shooting on the southeast side of Grand Rapids early Sunday morning.
At 3:25 a.m. Sunday, the Grand Rapids Police Department responded to a report of several people shot outside a residence at 345 Brown St. SE. Upon arriving there, officers found three gunshot victims.
A woman — later identified as Shanetta Latrice Franklin, 26, of Grand Rapids — died at the scene while another woman and a man were shot in the leg and were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids by Life Ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
The two other victims have been identified as 29-year old Latrya Maxwell and 41-year-old Kwong Edward Jones.
Witnesses told officers they heard a number of shots east of the location, in the area of Madison Avenue and Brown Street.
Police have no suspects and said no motive is known for the shootings.
