Parking Garage Flood Not Nearly as Severe as Initial Prediction

Monroe Flood TankersGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Emergency responders at the scene of the parking garage flood in downtown Grand Rapids now say that there are only about 500,000 gallons of water in the garage instead of the initial estimate of 1.8 million.

The garage, near 77 Monroe St., is predicted to be cleared by the 10 tankers at the scene by midnight Friday instead of Saturday morning.
