MUSKEGON, Mich.-Shock and sadness for several families in the Muskegon area after three people are killed following a shooting at an Elk’s Lodge early Sunday Morning.

Both 20-year-old Jacolby Brown and Dupree Barnes were killed during the shootout just after 2 a.m.

A 20-year-old woman was also killed after police say she was hit by gunfire then ran over by a vehicle attempting to leave the scene.

Witnesses say there were hundreds of people outside the lounge when the shooting happened.  FOX 17 spoke with one woman who says she held one of the young victims until an ambulance arrived.

She says she wanted to share her final words with her family, “Her last words were to her mother and her sister is that she loved them, because she knew, she wasn’t ok.”

The witness, who asked we conceal her identity, tells us she heard nearly 100 gunshots.  Now, bullet holes cover the outside of the lodge.

The witness says she’s had problems with the parties and violence at the Elk’s Lodge and has called police several times.  She says she only hopes this tragedy will enact change and that one family knows more about their loved ones final moments.
“Her family needs to know, her last words is that she loved her mom and her sister and I just want them to know that,” she said.

We’re told there is surveillance video of the incident and police are using that to identify the vehicle, driver and shooters.

The family of Jacolby Brown says they’re in shock over his sudden death.

“Stopping the violence, that doesn’t seem to sink in to everybody, it goes in one ear and out the other,” Brown’s cousin Jamila Griffen said.

She says the senseless violence needs to stop but wants Brown to be remembered as the fun-loving, athletic and caring person he was.

As of Sunday night there are no suspects are in custody.  If you have any information call the Muskegon Police Department at 231-724-6750 or Silent Observer at 231-722-7463.
