Dorr, MICH. — CenterShot Gun Range held its grand opening on Saturday in Dorr. Owner Robert Miller said that he wants his business to be a safe place for families to learn about gun safety.

“We’re trying to educate as much of the community as we can and to give us a safer community. The more people that know how to protect themselves and their neighbors and know how to understand what they have to do and when they have to do it, the better and safer community we are going to be living in,” said Miller.

Kent County Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Jacobson said that his gun training school called Today’s Weapons is aimed at informing gun owners how to properly use their firearm. Jacobson will help teach gun safety at the shooting range.

“So they have the understanding of the difference between a revolver, difference between a semiautomatic pistol, the nuances of the weapon systems they buy, so they can safely carry it on the street,” said Jacobson.
