MECOSTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Patricia Molette’s cousin endured hours of torment this past Thursday.
Her cousin became the victim of sexual assault and witnessed her mother’s murder. The suspect is 27-year-old Duncan Willis. He’s now in the Mecosta County Jail.
Molette recalls the ordeal, as told to her by her cousin.
“She was cleaning. She was in the bathroom cleaning. She was on the phone with her boyfriend, and the next thing you know [Willis] barged in,” Molette explained.
Willis lived across the street from the victim on Cramer Road in Rogers Heights, just south of Big Rapids. Molette said three children and three women were inside the home when [Willis] forced his way in.
“She said that [Willis] had stopped over earlier in the night trying to flirt with one of the other girls, and they kind of dismissed it, and he went home and about an hour later he just came through the door with the rifle,” Molette said.
In the sit down interview with FOX 17, Molette recalled what her cousin went through and how she’s doing now. Molette’s aunt, Kathleen Hawley, was murdered before the standoff.
