FRUITPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich – The Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office will review an alleged road rage incident that took place Wednesday morning that led to two men getting into a fist fight in the middle of a roadway.

Officers were called to the intersection of Fruiport Road and S. Walker Road around 10:15 a.m. and found a 22-year-old male and a 43-year-old male who had just been in an altercation in the roadway.

Investigators say the fight started after the 22-year-old driver passed the 43-year-old driver on Fruitport Road.  Police believe the 43-year-old driver started to follow the 22-year-old closely after he was passed, and that’s when the 22-year-old applied his brakes leading up to a fender bender crash.

Both vehicles pulled off to the side of the road, and both men got out of their vehicles leading up to a physical altercation.

Investigators say no weapons were involved in the fight, and neither of the men suffered serious injuries, adding no immediate medical treatment was required at the scene.

No arrests were immediately made at the scene, though the County Prosecutor will review the incident to determine whether or not any criminal charges will be filed, or any tickets will be issued for a traffic violation.

Names of the men involved aren’t being released at this time.
