BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. — A Berrien County deputy was struck by a vehicle during a drug investigation Tuesday.
According to a release, the 28-year-old suspect led officials on a chase to Indiana, where they were arrested at a South Bend apartment.
The deputy suffered leg injuries during the incident, and was released form the hospital Tuesday.
The suspect is in jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest causing injury to an officer and fleeing and eluding causing injury to an officer. Their name will be released after they are formally arraigned.
Berrien County’s narcotics unit was initially investigating an undisclosed location in Niles Township at approximately 11 a.m. when the confrontation happened.
