Army Dad Surprises Daughter With Holiday Visit

GRANDVILLE, Mich. — A father and daughter were reunited on Wednesday.

Sgt. Bernard Quakenbush has been serving in the US Army in South Korea for the past 9 months. He is home for the holidays, and decided to surprise his 4-year-old daughter Alli.

Sgt. Quakenbush arrived to Michigan late Tuesday night. The family had Alli spend the night at her grandmother’s house until the surprise.

Alli thought she was going to visit Santa at Rivertown Crossings mall, when he father appeared on Santa’s chair.

Alli’s parents said she was speechless when she realized her father sitting in front of her.

Father and daughter said they look forward to making up for lost time before Quakenbush returns to South Korea at the end of December.
