GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — Multiple agencies responded to a fire early Thursday morning, and the crews encountered downed power lines and frigid temperatures.
Dispatchers in Ottawa County described the situation as a garage/residential fire in the area of Howard Avenue and 2nd Street in Grand Haven. The first calls came in shortly before 2:00 a.m.
As firefighters arrived, they called for assistance from power crews due to the downed lines. Additional fire departments were also requested.
We spoke to crews on the scene, who said the fire started in a garage and managed to spread to two other garages. They described the fire as “massive.”
