WAYLAND, Mich. — Nathan Lavoie, a former Wayland church choir director, is facing more sex crime allegations after being arraigned on multiple charges involving a 15-year-old girl.
According to Allegan County District Court, Lavoie will be arraigned on the new criminal sexual conduct charges on Jan. 7 at 8:30 a.m. No other details on the new developments were provided.
He will also go to trial in Allegan County Circuit Court for the current sex crime charges after waiving his preliminary hearing Friday.
Lavoie, 32, of Middleville, is charged with child sexually abusive activity, second-degree criminal sexual conduct and accosting a minor. He was arrested Dec. 5 following an investigation into the alleged activity, which reportedly happened between 2011 and 2013.
He is accused of multiple criminal sexual acts against a female victim that began when she was 15 years old.
Lavoie was employed by St. Therese Church in Wayland as the choir director. The investigation still remains open to identify other potential victims.
