GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids Fire crews battled a train car fire at about 10 p.m. on Saturday night.
Fire officials tell FOX 17 that a single train car was engulfed near Market Ave. and Wealthy Street.
The train car was filled with cardboard. Officials said that there wasn’t anything hazardous inside the car.
Several fire engines responded to the call. According to the Battalion Chief, the extra engines were only necessary because of the distance from the fire hydrant to the train car.
