Suspect Leads Police On Chase; Hits Patrol Cars And Bystander’s Car

MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. (March 18, 2014) — A 24-year-old man from Muskegon was taken to the Muskegon County Jail after he drove off from police who were trying to make a traffic stop.

Police say they were trying to stop a white Toyota in connection to a criminal investigation, but the driver sped off. He led police on a chase at Terrace Street and Apple Avenue.

During the chase, the suspect hit patrol cars, causing damage, as well as a car belonging to someone uninvolved, causing minor damage.

The suspect headed to Clay Avenue, which dead ends, then left the car and ran. Officers managed to capture his 23-year-old female passenger, and the entire incident lasted just under two minutes.

The man was taken to the county jail on multiple felony charges. At last check, the police department is still investigating, and will release more information when it’s available.
