SAND LAKE, Mich. (March 18, 2014) — A crash involving at least one semi blocked both southbound lanes of US-131 around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Officers were called to detour traffic off the highway at exit 114 Cannonsville Road near Pierson.
Initial word indicated there were no injuries.
Around 6 a.m., fire units were called in from Sand Lake to wash spilled fuel off the pavement.
Cleanup of the crash scene took so long, the southbound lanes were not re-opened until shortly before 9 a.m.
