Indiana State Police responded to Lake Charles in the town of Porter early this morning when a local fisherman reported seeing something suspicious in the water.
Preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 7:10 a.m., this Sunday, April 06, 2014, morning a local fisherman called Porter Police to report something suspicious floating in the water of Lake Charles. Lake Charles is a town park located in Porter and open to the public.
Indiana State Police and members of our SCUBA team as well as members of Porter Fire and Rescue responded to the scene. A female body dressed in dark clothing was recovered from the water.
An autopsy will be scheduled for sometime this week to positively identify the body.
This is an ongoing investigation and nothing further will be released at this time.
