LUDINGTON, Mich. (April 16, 2014) — The body of a man found along the Ludington lakeshore Tuesday night has been identified as a missing man from Sheboygan County in Wisconsin.
According to Mason County Sheriff’s Department, the body is that of Allen Townsend, who went missing last November.
An autopsy performed Wednesday morning was not able to determine his cause of death, but police do not believe foul play was involved.
Officials said Townsend had two identifiable tattoos that helped them identify his body. Bicyclists discovered his body at about 7 p.m. Tuesday.
