KENTWOOD, Mich. (April 22, 2014) — You might want to plan on up-sizing your vehicle this Friday and Saturday if you plan on heading to a sale stuffed full of gently loved items at the 2014 YMCA White Elephant Sale; it comes only once a year.! This bargain hunters dream is presented by the YMCA Service Club of Grand Rapids.

The location this year is in the old Family Fare, at 5270 Eastern Ave. SE, and I can’t possibly name every single thing they offer, but I will give you a slight overview. But first, keep in mind they do offer a pretty cool Early Bird entry option on Friday, where you pay $5 to get in from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. before the general public gets in from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. for free. On Saturday, it is free all day with the hours ranging from 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What will you find? What won’t you find!
- Books: Possibly one of the largest book departments they have ever had, with an estimated 8,000 books! They also have DVDs, vintage magazines and beyond that sell for roughly $1 and $2.
- Office Supplies/Electronics: Hundreds of 3-ring binders for $1, two skids of envelopes, paper shredders, computers, printers, speakers, reams of paper, labels, telephones and beyond.
- Furniture: Beds, floor mats, desks, bookcases, entertainment centers, filing cabinets, couches, stools, dining tables, rockers, coffee tables and much more!
- Clothing: Lots of name-brand items for the whole family along with a great selection of yarn and fabric to make your own items!
- Toys: Need I explain? Your kids will be delighted!
- Special Items: Complete set of Choir Risers, a sailboat, high quality telescope, mixing bowls, candle holders and even a banjo!
- Building Supplies: Skids of floor tile, ceiling tile, grout, insulation, doors, plywood and more!
- Hardware: More than 15,000 pairs of gloves in “Glove City”; fill a bag of nuts-and-bolts for just $6; More than 100 hand tools, saws, grinders, safety glasses, brooms, mops, chainsaw, fireplace logs and hanging lamps.
- Fabric Foam and Carpeting: Nearly 400 rolls of fabric, pillows, swatches, 30 rolls of carpet, linoleum and beyond!
There will also be a concession stand, serving coffee, pop, pop corn, hot dogs, cookies, hot dogs, potato chips and cheese kurls.
