Gull Lake Schools Close After Power Outage

power outages ConsumersKALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. (April 25, 2014) — Nearly 4,800 Consumers Energy customers in the Richland area lost power for about three hours Friday morning.

The outages prompted Gull Lake Schools to close down for the day.  The district announced that secondary students were released at 9:45 a.m. and that elementary students would be released at 11:45 a.m.

According to Consumers Energy, an equipment failure on a high voltage line caused the power to go out at about 7:20 a.m.  Power was restored to all customers by 10:30 a.m.
