051114slightriskWEST MICHIGAN — (May 11, 2014) Temperatures will be on the rise today and clouds will start to increase throughout the day ahead of a system that will bring rain chances back into West Michigan.

As we head through the afternoon an approaching system will allow the chance for some isolated showers and thunderstorms to develop. Storms that develop will likely be isolated in nature at first and will have the opportunity to become strong to severe late this afternoon and evening. Storms could contain gusty winds and small hail and although the chance is very minimal an isolated tornado.

Chances for more widespread showers and thunderstorms will move in late Sunday evening and overnight and the severe threat will continue through Monday as a frontal boundary moving through the area will allow for storms to develop around West Michigan.

We will continue to keep you updated on the severe potential Sunday and Monday with updates on FOX17online.com, Facebook, Twitter and on FOX17 News.
