GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (May 15, 2014) — It was a moment that was seen by millions of people around the country when the video went viral: a little boy’s unbridled joy upon receiving a hockey stick from Grand Rapids Griffin player, Jordin Tootoo.
Before Wednesday night’s game 4 against the Stars, young super fan Camden Smith got another surprise. Tootoo and Cam were reunited, and he autographed the stick that has become so special to the boy.
In pictures posted by the Grand Rapids Griffins on their official Facebook page, they summed it up beautifully: “Safe to say Camden is a fan for life.” Cam’s dad posted as well, saying “My son was so excited when he got the stick that we surprised him today with getting it signed and him not knowing. Great person in Jordin, fantastic organization in the Griffins!”
The original video of that heart-warming gift has over 2 million views on YouTube. You also may remember Cam recently joined us in the studio, to talk about becoming a viral star.
