MACKINAC ISLAND, Mich. (May 28, 2014) — Democratic Rep. Gary Peters is leading Republican opponent Terri Lynn Land in their U.S. Senate race, according to two recent polls.
The shift in momentum for Peters comes as the pair participates in a candidate forum at the Detroit Chamber’s Mackinac Policy Conference.
Peters is leading Land by 6 percentage points, according to EPIC-MRA and by 4.3 percentage points, according to WDIV/The Detroit News.
In the EPIC-MRA poll, Peters’ lead is thanks in large part to support from female voters.
Last month, Land criticized Peters in an ad called “Really?” which took aim at the so-called ‘war on women.’
