LAKE ODESSA, Mich. — Two teenagers were injured when the off-road vehicle they were riding hit a tree early Friday evening.
At 4:50 p.m. Friday, Ionia County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of an off-road vehicle hitting a tree on Bippley Road east of Jackson Road in Lake Odessa. Their investigation revealed that a 14-year-old from Lake Odessa was driving a Yamaha Grizzly 550 quad runner eastbound on Bippley Road east of Jackson Road when the driver lost control, the vehicle left the south side of the roadway and struck a tree.
A 15-year-old, also from Lake Odessa, was a passenger on the quad when the crash occurred.
Both occupants were transported to a hospital in Grand Rapids with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office.
