FOX 17’s Michele DeSelms Discusses Fire-Related Injury

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – For the past three weeks, FOX 17 News Anchor Michele DeSelms has been away from the news desk, recovering from an injury after falling into a fire pit.

This week, she returned to the airwaves.  On Thursday’s edition of FOX 17 News at 6pm, she spoke about her injury as well as gave thanks to the public for all of their support.

Her story was also published Thursday in the The Grand Rapids Press.

You can watch DeSelms Monday through Thursday on FOX 17 News at 5:00 and 6:00pm as well as Sundays on FOX 17 News at 10:00 and 11:00pm.

    I'm sorry for Mrs. Deselms tragic fire incident…but Fox17 should take this opportunity to end its relationship with her. She is a mediocre reporter at best and is one of the reasons I do not watch your newscasts.

    The news should never be about the reporter – all too common in today's world of reporting – the big sendoff when a reporter goes to another station or a news story about a reporters new baby, etc. Let's take the focus off of the reporters and put it back on the 'news' or what the stations decide is the 'news' anyway. Reporters are just that, reporters. They are not celebrities.

    michele, i was 18 when i burnt my legs and hands and i know what and how you feel. for the first week i thought i going to die, the next 2 weeks i wished i would. it was pain more than any one knows. hang in there it gets better. by the way your great on tv. christian frank is good also
