GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (June 12, 2014) — After a soggy day around West Michigan Wednesday, Thursday’s forecast still features chances of scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Lingering moisture resulted in patchy fog around the area Thursday morning, with visibility dropping between a quarter- and half-mile at times.  That moisture will hang around and create somewhat of a humid-feeling day.  As low clouds and fog break up through midday, temperatures will climb quickly as partial sun returns.  Temperatures will likely end up in the upper 70s to near 80° in the afternoon.

A cold front will swing through the Great Lakes in the afternoon, likely triggering a few scattered showers and thunderstorms once again.  Unlike Wednesday, though, these are expected to move quickly out of the area and only bring small amounts of rain during the afternoon.

Behind the front, we’ll cool things down overnight, and get back to sunshine on Friday.  Check out the full 7 Day Forecast on the Weather page.
