Ten Year Old Girl Taken To The Hospital After Being Struck By A Truck

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (June 14, 2014)- A ten year girl was taken to a Grand Rapids hospital after being struck by a truck while riding her bike.

According to Grand Rapids Police officers at the scene, a red Chevy pickup truck travelling at a slow rate of speed in the 1000 block of Jennette Ave. NW struck the girl when she rode her bike into the street from a driveway.

The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

The ten year old girl suffer minor head injuries and was taken to a local Grand Rapids hospital for treatment. It is unknown whether or not the girl was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the red Chevy truck was not cited.

    Either way……………..people travel way too fast in this area ALL THE TIME!! Let this be a reminder for people to slow down because it is summer. I have seen numerous cars today flying down our roads. Even a motorcycle traveling at high rates of speed. Are we all in such a hurry that we cant follow the speed limits set in place? This is a residential area. Nobody treats these roads as such!!

    Yes they store is all wrong y’all came late anyways.. Police was gone so how you get any answer.. Did not asking anybody questions about it when they came.. Dam shame just made they own store up smh.. I was rite front and center… Everything is all wrong… Just for a store.. At least have most of the store rite… Ugh just irritated me…

      As soon as I read it I was baffled! It’s not even close to what happened, the only part right was the location and the driver was not cited for the accident, Bc she was not speeding!
