BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (June 17, 2014) — A man in Battle Creek was shot and killed when two men tried to rob him, police say.
Allyn William Reeve Jr., 27, was identified as the victim.
Battle Creek Police responded to a report of a break-in around 4:30 a.m. on June 17. It happened at a home on East Territorial Road, and a woman flagged down an officer who was on the way. She said that Reeve was shot in the home.
Officers also say they believe the incident was drug-related.
Officers found the victim, who was unresponsive, and say he had a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say that two black men went into the home trying to rob the victim and shot him during the home invasion. They are described as 5’8″ – 5’10” with a thin build and dark complexion.
