BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (June 23, 2014) – Former WCSG radio host John Balyo will remain behind bars after being denied bond as he now faces two charges of criminal sexual conduct.

Magistrate Heiss denied Balyo’s bond, citing “proof of the defendant’s guilt,” based on a confession Balyo made to Battle Creek Police Det. Stephanie Estree.

“It’s our understanding, according to the police report, the defendant did make admission to  count one of the complaint,” said Calhoun County prosecutor David Gilbert.

Balyo is charged with having sexual contact with a 12-year-old back on May 17.

If convicted on the charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, Balyo faces up to life in prison.

Balyo is due in court for a preliminary exam on June 30.
