WALKER, Mich. – A man who was convicted of carrying out a murder in Pennsylvania was officially identified as a suspect Monday in the homicide of a mother of four whose body was found at a Walker construction site.
Yolanda Reyes went missing in April.
The following information was sent to FOX 17 News Monday from the Walker Police Department.
SHAWN JAMES JARRETT, B/M, 11-3-63 was recently considered a person of interest in the death investigation of Berta Yolanda Reyes, after Walker detectives began re-interviewing co-workers of Ms. Reyes and examining employment documentation. It was discovered that Jarrett had been working at the greenhouse on the date of Ms. Reyes’ disappearance in April. Additionally, investigators learned of Jarrett’s extensive criminal background record for violent crimes committed in a different state.
Jarrett is currently considered a suspect in Ms. Reyes’ death, but at this time there are no charges being sought until a forensic report is received and all relevant physical evidence thoroughly examined.
