2 accused of using police scanner, two-way radios in $13,000 Cass Co. bank robbery

EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Two people are facing federal charges more than a year after allegedly using a police scanner and two-way radios in their armed heist at a Cass County bank.

Devon Tolbert and Latonya Gowdy, both of Indiana, allegedly stole $13,000 in the July 10, 2013 robbery.

Both are facing federal charges of conspiracy to commit bank robbery and armed bank robbery.  Tolbert is facing an additional charge of using and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.

According to federal court documents filed July 24, Tolbert robbed the G.W. Jones Exchange Bank in Edwardsburg while Gowdy drove and served as a lookout.
